For more than 15 years, the American Legion Auxiliary Foundation has funded initiatives to serve veterans, military, and their families. The ALA Foundation empowers American Legion Auxiliary entities (units, districts/counties, and departments) to forge partnerships with organizations serving veterans and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs medical facilities in their communities. Together, our ALA entities and the ALA Foundation fund initiatives to better serve our nation’s heroes locally and nationally.
This Veterans Day, supporting the first Veterans Day of Giving is the best way to honor the sacrifices of our nation’s heroes and continue to support initiatives of ALA entities around the country.
What is the Veterans Day of Giving?
It’s an opportunity to participate in a philanthropic movement to raise awareness and inspire support for our nation’s veterans on Veterans Day, Nov. 11. Our veterans’ days in uniform may have ended, but the impact of service on our nation’s heroes has not. The mental and physical effects of military service can be permanent and life-altering.
This Veterans Day, make a gift to the American Legion Auxiliary Foundation’s Veteran Projects Fund in honor of a servicemember in your life. The ALA Foundation Board of Directors will match the first $6,000 received. You can give online here or text VETERAN to 1-844-940-3450.
Our nation’s veterans give so much to protect our country. They deserve to be honored and celebrated. To learn more about the Veteran Projects Fund, visit www.ALAFoundation.org/grants.
